Ana Rajcevic ENCOUNTERS
The film explores the relationship between fear and desire, aestheticizing a scene of sexual violence. The narrative confronts two different visual ‘realities’: one characterised by hand-held camera, roughly shifting out of focus, and a second one, made out of highly artificial, static slow-motion images. It depicts a rape scene, but there is no raping involved, only a visual signification of a potentially dreadful experience.

Screened at Berlin Fashion Week, January 20-24th, 2010
Cast: Ana Boltic, Nikola Bogdanovic, Nikola Pantelic, Dusan Jankovic, Vuksa Velickovic, Ana Rajcevic
Produced by Ana Rajcevic and NAMENSKA

Armor as inspiration, the eroticism of evil in the form of battle garments. Seducible, sculptural forms that meet the classic elegance of tradition and the brutal, combatant futurism of the modern age. Utilitarian objects like shoulder and knee caps become sensual, erotic accessories. Leather coats encrusted with glittering metal become uniforms of a distant, dehumanized world of manufactured bodies. Sculpturality and voluminosity of these designs put emphasis on the body itself – a dominating, fighting body, body in armor, body as weapon, a non-mortal body: UNHUMAN

materials: cow and sheep skin, floor rubber, plastics, rubber impregnated linen, tin, bronze, aluminium.

“Ghost Structures” video installation
September 10th – 17th 2009, 20-23h
Gavrila Principa 6, Belgrade
Belgrade of Light Festival

Video sequel for the “Wired” sculpture exhibition. Images of sculptures are projected on one of the facades in downtown Belgrade, producing an effect of bodies stepping out of the building, altering the city landscape with an unearthly presence of ghost structures: neither man, nor machine.
