Collaboration with Neon Dance Company (UK), and choreographer and Neon Dance director Adrienne Hart
Inspired by the work of psychologist Professor Simon Baron-Cohen (Zero Degrees of Empathy), Empathy is a dance experience where movement, sound, costume and lighting combine and contribute in equal part. It reflects on what influences us to empathise with others, our emotional capacity, ability to feel, to think and to experience.
Following this, the ‘body-pieces’ or ‘dance-prosthesis’ explore those experiences, inviting dancers to use their bodies differently, and to feel and follow one another. With a constant play between duality and unity, each of the body-pieces holds a different symbolic and metaphorical meaning.
