Body-extensions and artefacts inspired by spider morphologies, and their ability to create spider web structures.
Specifically, I looked at three-dimensional ‘cobwebs’ and spiders’ mooring threads, that connect spider’s webs to surfaces while also creating surface-to-surface connections.
Set against the backdrop of Johann Jóhannsson’s 16mm black and white film, based on the ground-breaking 1930 sci-fi novel by Olaf Stapledon, Last and First Men (2020), the body pieces are part of the contemporary dance performance by Neon Dance.
